29% ? Ok I can work with that.

September 14, 2016

Apparently someone decided to run a poll covering a hypothetical race between Senator Warren and I. I got 29%, which is a lot more than I expected considering I’ve never stated a public position on legislation except to state my opinions as a Christian, Conservative, Constitutionalist and American.

I’ll play along.

Elizabeth Warren wants free education at public universities in the United States.

In Massachusetts alone there are 29 public colleges and 191k students (numbers from ’14 and ’15 or last census data).

Remember as we go through this, every single dollar mentioned in this argument is a NEW TAX DOLLAR that does not exist today.

The average in state tuition (using a national average) we will put at $23,000.

So in 2017 this state alone needs to come up with 4.393 BILLION dollars for free college PER YEAR.

Better yet, 17,572 BILLION every 4 years for a college student. That’s 17.572 BILLION tax dollars we currently DO NOT PAY. Now that’s if the state alone could afford it, which is the ONLY way I’d be for something like this.

Nationally? Because that is what her and her colleagues want.

Research states that by 2018 there will be 15.6 million students enrolled at the 1700 or so 2-4 year public colleges.

That amounts to 358 BILLION dollars annually, in taxes that DO NOT CURRENTLY EXIST.

Put another way. The cost to send the class of 2018 to 4 years of college? 1.435 TRILLION dollars by 2022. That’s not a typo, that’s trillion.

That’s this number 1,435,000,000,000.00

Or better yet, that’s 982,876,712 million dollars a day for 4 years. I had to do this math 3 times to insure I wasn’t seeing things.

Can you wrap your head around that number? This country right now sits on close to 20 trillion dollars in debt. This administration prints money when they need it, a surefire way to insure someone else is on the edge of the cliff when the economy pushes us off.

Put a way that can make this personal.

For this country to provide free education to the 15.6 million college students (and surely that number grows by a significant amount when people who may not want to go learn they can live off the taxpayer for 4 more years) the following cost would be passed on to you, one of the estimated 93.8 million who pay taxes (or just under 55% of us).

10 bucks. Yup, 10 dollars.

A DAY. For four years.

10 dollars a day, every day, for four years. That’s 1460 days so another 14,600 per tax paying citizen. I’m going to bet quite a few of you don’t have an extra 14-15k laying around you really don’t need.

So I think exposing Senator Warren and her lack of accomplishments in her tenure as well as what liberals wish the world would do for them would be the easier part of this. It’s what politicians do right?

I’d prefer to offer up something that may matter. That would change this state, and nation. Not an attack, but an offensive, offering up something I think would be a legitimate and desirable option for the US Government.

This is just a SMALL list from 2015. Well north of a billion dollars in complete and total waste not to mention tax dollars being stolen.

As an FYI, I am a friend to Gov Bakers and LtG Polito. But here would be local questions about our 2017 budget.

How are we reducing our annual 2.1 billion dollars in long term debt?

Why is the Lottery taking 82 million in tax dollars to run?

Why are there 389 people employed AT the lottery?

I’d love to dig deeper but for now I’ll say there’s no way it should cost 82 million to run the lottery and no way it should take close to 400 people to do so. Hell privatize that business, and pay a much smaller amount to have it run by someone else while still reaping the revenues.

This 1 billion + in government waste? What to do?

Latest numbers I could find show there are 21.8 million vets in this country.

That $1,026,957,650? That would amount to cutting a check to each state for 20.5 million for them to do as they need to setup free health care for our veterans. Now this is not all there is to be sure. But the bottom line is I think it’s criminal that this country allows our elected officials to piss away our taxes on personal favors and bullshit grants while our veterans kill themselves at a rate of 22 a day. They’re homeless, jobless and penniless in many instances. How can we live with ourselves knowing we are cheating the very soldiers who fought and died for what we have?

(I screwed up earlier! Had trillions for billions! Thanks for letting me know, corrected and amended)

We take that money and establish a COMPLETELY new system of health care and education for our vets. You would clearly need to create a set of rules for what a veteran is and is not under this policy. Or maybe you don’t I don’t know, but that would be a point of discussion if need be.

First? Veterans and their families receive FREE PRIVATE health care of their choice, for life. For service men and women lost in the line their spouse/children would receive this for life as well. Otherwise unless they enlisted their free health care would leave at 21 and they would be afforded the same health care but at a 50% cost. (math again to be figured out by smarter folks than I)

Up to 4 children of veterans would receive free education at a public or private school.

Now there would be tweaks and what not to this, but I imagine with a desire by your elected officials this could actually get done, and actually matter.

The next step? Addressing the frivolous dollars our first responders make at the state level.

“Well north of a trillion dollars in complete and total waste…” Maybe I’m missing something, but how do we get a trillion dollars from that list of grievances? It looks to me like everything in that green chart adds up to just a little more than a billion dollars.

Reblogged this on Qui me amat, amet et canem meum ~St. Bernard of Clairvaux~ and commented:
Just imagine too how many hungry children in this country alone this money would feed. Veterans and hungry children should be a top priority here in America.

29% isn’t a bad start, although I’d have expected more based on your World Series performance. Unfortunately it’ll only go down once the public starts hearing your crazy ideas.
