Umm, no.

April 15, 2008

What often goes unsaid when the topic of the Yankees and Curt Schilling is broached is probably more relevant than the conversation itself. First off I didn’t say I wanted to go there, or was going to go there. That’s a non-story, period.

Add to that the following. I’m 41, injured and rehabbing, and the personal history involved. To “GO” somewhere in this game takes two parties, and I would think it would be a safe bet that the Yankees, and their fans, will manage just fine without me ever donning pinstripes. No one ever thinks to follow the discussion to that point but it’s true.

As to the uproar today. It really is a non-story made into a story with second hand conversation and hearsay. I’m absolutely healthier, stronger and all the things you’ hope for at this point. I’ve spent 8 long weeks grinding away at this rehab, committing more time and effor than I think anyone thought going in. It’s paid off through today and the test results back that up.

That being said I have not thrown a baseball yet. That’s not a small thing. I will be the first to admit I expected the everyday pain to return within 3-4 weeks of the shot, but it has not. Every day I check in at the beginning of my workouts and the line of questioning is always the same “How is the shoulder today, 1-10″ and the worst day I have had pain wise since day 1 has been a 2, maybe a 3 tops.

The ankle has certainly become a sore spot and I think that’s more to do with the huge increase in cardio over the past few months, but even before that, back through 2005, the discomfort is something that’s just part of everyday living now. Explained to me was that one of the 4 surgeries done when they opened it up was to remove the ‘dead bone’ that had died during the season, and even with a subsequent shave of the surface to promote potential healing, nothing was guaranteed. I’ve never had arthritis but that is what it is I am told. So dealing with that is almost an afterthought, it’s there, it’s not going away, so dwelling on it, talking about it is not going to make it hurt more, less or change anything other than what’s on my mind, doing no one any good.

My left knee is a bit sore as well but I was made aware 13 years ago when I had it repaired that ‘someday’ it would be an issue. I just didn’t expect some day to be while I was still playing. I had a small bucket handle tear of the meniscus and the two options were to stitch the tear, or remove the tear. Stitching meant longer rehab, less discomfort later, removing meant much faster rehab, with ramifications later. Hmm, not sure that was the smartest move.

The team looks good, very good. Please stop the Papi talk too. Check back in September when he’s at 305 30 something HRs and 100+ RBI’s, and then laugh at this uproar. Mike looked as good as I have seen him since I have been here last night. Big win last night. The pitcher in me felt horrible for Borowski, I just felt something had to be wrong given he looked like he was putting normal effort into the pitch but what was coming out was not his stuff. Hope it turns out ok for him.

For any WoW players out there, check out this mod, great product that we are in the midst of revamping at 38 Studios. Free trial and I think even the most veteran players will learn some very cool stuff they missed the first few times around!

Yeah the Yankee talk is definetly a non starter. They (Yankees) have shown they are moving towards more of a youth movemnt right now with the young guns they have. I think you would make an excellant addition provided you can get healthy enough to help. I think the Clemens thing last year showed that you still need mor then a hired gun to go to the show. Stay in Boston, the fans love you their and the young staff needs your guidance and wisdom. For me, Big Papi is the Yankee killer so as long as he does not play well against New York then I hope he has a great season, he is one of the most excting hitters in the game right now. Keep Plugging on the Rehab everyday it will be a little better. Go Yankees

I heard Dr Morgan this a.m. on WEEI and thought to myself, “hmm. I wonder if his patient knows he’s saying these things…” It was, interesting to say the least. Granted, he said that you were angry when you two spoke, but still – not sure that’s something that should’ve been released publicly, whether it was said or not.

Eh, you had to know this kind of thing was going to creep up. Life can’t just be quiet, now can it.

It was good to hear you sounding cautiously optomistic; whether that’s the real deal – or being said because you’re a team player doesn’t really matter to me.

Just glad to hear that you aren’t truly entertaining wearing pin stripes!

    Hey Curt,

I just want to thank you and your teamates so much for bringing happiness to my father when you won the WS in 2004 and 2007. For the past 18 months he has had esphogeal cancer and went into Dana Farber once a week up until a month ago, when they decide to stop his treatment and to go home and to be with his family. He watched or listened to the Red Sox & Patriots all his life and the last few years he throughly enjoyed watching you guys win those two championships. For our family the 2007 Championship was special to us because we had a good idea Dad would never see it again. He is only expected to last about a week.

    Thanks again …. Jim

    Puhleeeeeeze,

Even if you shut your mouth (impossible) won 20 games this year (impossible). You will never pitch for the Yankees. The yankees are a team, they don’t appreciate self promoting big mouths like yourself. You would make it exactly 1 week with your act down there, until Jetes or Giambi shut ur mouth up for good.

You know your just holding on for the HOF and that is the only reason your hanging on.

Don’t go away mad Schilling…….Just go away!

    Schill:

Glad to hear your rehab is coming along and that you’re doing the work to get back. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not worried about David being Papi again; it’ll happen, as you said, in time. And by September he’ll be hitting again something fierce.

Great game last night. Now, if you’ll excuse me…my DVR is on pause and I really want to get to tonight’s game!

    Dear Mr. Schilling,
Please read this completely,as it is sent sincerely and from the heart. I am thrilled to hear that your rehab is going so well, and that the shoulder pain is not that great, but that is not why I write. I also do not understand why you feel that you have to explain or defend your physical condition, because people should be understanding of those(like you and me)who are physically challenged, and be understanding of the grueling rehab that you are going through, totally giving it your all-but again, that is not why I write. When it comes to your ankle and knee, however,I totally, completely understand what you are going through, where you are coming from, and how you feel, emotionally as well as physically. I do not know if you have read what I have written in past posts, but I have written about how,due to a life-threatening accident,I shattered my ankle, put back together by a metal plate and nine screws, yes 9 screws. While I am better than had been thought possible,in the sense that I am walking, which I never thought that I would do(the first time I was able to stand again, not walk but just stand, after 2 months in a wheelchair, was…well,
words cannot describe it,much like you will feel when you pitch again),I do have limitations, along with swelling at times and pain in the ankle almost all of the time(and as you said with you, physical activity does tend to make it worse). In addition,I,at age 48,have started to develop arthritis in the knee of the opposite leg,a result of an injury that I had when I was nineteen (I am told it is now bone rubbing on bone). In other words,I do not have a good leg to stand on. I am aware completely of how you feel emotionally because most of the time I do not want people asking me about the pain in my ankle,as it is there and will always be there, and as you said, asking about it is not going to change it. It is not always the greatest topic of conversation or something that I want to discuss. I do want to discuss it with you, however, because I can see that we feel exactly alike, and I do want you to know that you are not alone. I am so very, very sorry for all of the pain that you are having,in the various areas of your body, and I give you much credit for fighting through the pain, but I will tell you what the greatest orthopedic doctor,
who put my ankle back together(also did surgery on my elbow)told me: He said that the alternative to my living with the pain in the ankle would be to not live with it,and if I were not living with it,I would be dead. I follow his words all of the time and make the most of life as I can, despite the pain, living with the pain(and sometimes swelling of the ankle)because at least I know that I am alive. I am so very sorry that you have to deal with it as I do,but I am glad that you are living with it(as opposed to not living with it)and promise me that you will never feel that you have to defend, explain,or apologize for your physical condition. Being physically challenged(and I am physically challenged, not handicapped)does not make who we are as human beings. You are a beautiful human being in so many ways and that needs no explaining, ever. By the way, speaking of human beings, for the record,I may be in New York City but I hate the Yankees, despise them, and they do not DESERVE to have you or someone like the beautiful human being that you are. I am glad to hear that the rehab is going as well as it is,which I give to your credit for doing as much as you are, continued good luck with the rehab(I know it is not easy but I know you will stick with it and I hope to see you pitching again soon)and if ever you want to talk, please know that I am here for you, always(and we can talk about other things besides our physical conditions). You are never alone, and both physically and emotionally,I sincerely feel your pain. Your pain is my pain and when you hurt,so do I. I know exactly what you are going through,as I am as well, but hang in there and know that my thoughts are with you always.
    Best Wishes,always,

Sorry for assuming the worst Curt.

That’s what us Red Sox fans do. Look what happened to Johnny Damon. We (Red Sox Nation) could care less about any other team in the MLB… Orlando gets Praised in his return, Trot, Millar, Roberts, and PEDRO… still beloved here in Boston.

  15. April 16, 2008 9:30 am

    @ theclassofbasball

I’m sorry, but it has nothing to do with Yankee team or just saying bad things for the sake of it, but its the arrogance of the owner and fans like you that piss us off. We don’t want our players (who’ve had success here in Boston) going to your team. It’s that simple. It’s been this way ever since Ruth. You owners think just because you can offer someone a boat load of money (and even overpay for them, (i.e. Damon, Pavano, Giambi) they’ll come, perform and win you championships. You’ll never see a team like Brosius, Knoblauch, Martinez, O’Neill and Williams ever again as long has Hank is in charge. But who knows, maybe Arod will get a hit in the post season this year… if you ever make it there.

Oh and btw, we weren’t the ones worried about an Ortiz jersey buried under the concrete. Gimme a break… *rolls eyes @ the Yankees*

Are you kidding me? You’re talking about your “team” who paid $39.95 million in 2005 for a guy who went 18-8 with a 3.00 ERA… and he’s what… won 4 games for you guys? ROFL!

Wow…where to start with the posts by yankees fans (and you have to wonder why they are so interested in reading Curt’s blog).

“they don’t appreciate self promoting big mouths”…are you not aware of a player named A-Rod? You know, the one who told his manager to go ahead and make an announcement about his contract negotiations right in the middle of the World Series? Seems like a pretty BIG self promoting big mouth.

The points concerning Matsui’s wedding have already been made…nuff said!

As for the ‘classofbaseball’…maybe you should have spent more time in the ‘classoftyping’. A comma is not a universal punctuation symbol! And it’s sad to listen to a yankees fan now more than ever. I see they are now promoting t-shirts and hats celebrating your 26 World Series wins. I guess when you haven’t won one in 8 years (we’ve won 2 in the last 4 years, both at the yankees expense) you have no choice but to live in the past. I remember seeing a TV commercial for the DVD set “The Bronx is Burning” and that you could get a championship hat with purchase. I guess that’s the only way yankees fans can get a championship hat anymore!

The Yankees can’t stand the fact that you’ve had The Whammy on them since 2001 and spending $1.5 Billion dollars hasn’t fixed that.

I’m glad to hear the PT and rehabbing is going well and I can NOT wait to see you back on the field helping the Sox to another Championship.

Your comments on Borowski were right on the money too. I was glad to see us win but I felt horrible to see that something was not right with him. It’s not often you see a closer walking off the field while the inning is still going on. I can’t imagine how terrible that must have felt for him.

    Sir,

I feel compelled to write because I’m saddened and discouraged when I hear BoSox “fans” rip into their former players for changing teams. Talk about greed. A player that contributed so much to the organization (insert Boggs/Clemens/Garciaparra/P.Martinez/Damon) leaves and then you burn them in effigy? Take away Boggs, Clemens, Garciaparra, Vaughn, P. Martinez, Damon and countless others and what do you have? Learn to enjoy what you have when you have it, appreciate the down years as “character building” moments in your life, and cherish the golden years.

Regardless of whether you play for any other team or not THIS lifelong fan of all things New England and most especially, the Sox, will always be eternally grateful for your time spent with the BoSox. I was born in ’80 so I know some of the heartache of the Old Sox. You and the rest of the 2004 WS Champion Red Sox gave so many millions of fans some of the most golden, cherished, and loved memories they will ever have.

Continue being true to yourself and know there are many non-vocal members of the Nation that support you and the team and are sick and tired of the critical, neg-head, hacks that are rampant around the Hub’s sports teams.

    Good luck with rehab, Chief!

Lots of Red Sox players say they could never play for the Yankees. Then they do. Curt, you are the ONE Red Sox player I actually believe. You get it. You are a genuine hero in Red Sox Nation and will be welcomed back with standing ovations the rest of your life. All that goes down the tubes if you ever wear pinstripes. Roger Clemens, on the other hand, is neither a Yankee nor a Red Sox. Neither a Blue Jay nor an Astro (though, perhaps, mostly an Astro). In which city will he get standing ovations in his retirement? WTF are you talking about? you’re taking their quotes waaaaaaaay out of context. If you are referring to the one incident where they were suspended a few years back fine… but they never are serious with their on the air banter. Get a grip on sarcasm before making such outlandish claims.

The real funny part is, if you hate them so much, why are you still listening to them??

  36. April 17, 2008 8:07 am

    @ southyank7,

its funny you mention your beloved yankees $200 million payroll and farm system… only after the Red Sox have won two world series with five key role young players… I wonder who’s trying to be like who now…

The Red Sox are fourth in payroll, under both NY teams… with the Yankees leading the charge (once again) +$70 million….

No idea why you’re bragging about “next” year when the sox have already been there done that… Whatever helps you sleep at night i guess…

  37. April 17, 2008 8:17 am

    @ cglassanos

It’s obvious you’re not a Red Sox fan because you think we just hate people for switching teams for the fun of it…. Did you read my post about the people we praise when they come back on opposite teams??

    You mention: Boggs/Clemens/Garciaparra/P.Martinez/Damon

    1) We love Pedro, so throw that out. This was obvious in his return to Fenway in 05

    2) Boggs/Clemens/Garciaparra; all three ripped into the Red Sox organization on their way out… all three were doggin’ it in their final days with the Red Sox, and with the exception of Nomar, went on to All Star, Cy Young awards…

    3) And Damon, after claiming he’d never go to the Yankees after his last season.. went to the Yankees. He became a star here in Boston… He was Jesus to Red Sox fans, and then he lied, went to the Yankees for the money and you talk about Red Sox fans being greedy??? Now he’s their DH…

That being said, I don’t personally hate Damon, he had to do what he had to do, but theres enough justification there to give Red Sox fans the reason to hate him…

  38. April 17, 2008 8:24 am

    @ theclassofbasball

That’s actually very funny to hear!! You think winning the pennant actually means something!! LOL

That’s like saying, “Well at least the Pats whet 17-0 last year” Gimme a break!

And whats even more funny is you need to bring up the past to make your so called point… We won two WS in the last 3 years… And yet you bring up going 85 years without a WS…. We’re in the present time buddy. It’s not 1978. It’s not 1986. Its not even 2003. Keep livin int he past and we’ll see how that goes for ya…

As for getting the winning bid on Dice, that’s an easy one. We got him so you guys didn’t get him. Pretty simple. :D Have fun with Pavano and ZERO Ace this season when we have three. Curt, Dice and Josh.

@matuszek, Thanks (really!) for taking the time to provide your feedback, and we agree. We are in the process of redesigning the site completely and part of that is a total revamp of the home page. The choppy animations will be a thing of the past once the relaunch is done.

I hope you don’t let the appearance get in the way of checking the newsletter out, I’m confident you’ll find it extremely helpful.

Havent been here for a while but I have to back up my fellow Yankee fans. All of these insults are really unnecessary. The Red Sox fans are a bit smug right now, that’s true… they are enjoying a modicum of success that they have never had before. Remember, unless they are over 90 years old, these fans have all lived a life of torture waiting for their team to win something, anything. And now that they have got a little taste of success, their biggest fear is the inevitible day when the Yankees are back on top. And it will happen..Tha Sawx fans know it, which is why they act so douchey now. Enjoy your success because it wont last forever. The Sawx may be hot the last few years (they do have a great team)but in terms of a winning tradition a couple of scattered championships will not exactly qualify as erasing 8 decades of being a tortured loser. Win 4 or more titles in a row…do it mopre than once over a span of years. Despite their success, I have heard many a Sawx fan express their deep fear that the Yankees will manage to spoil their parade. Admit it or not Sawx faithful, the Yankees still scare you and they always will. You dont get your ass whupped dozens of times over the yeasrs and all of a sudden lose your fear because you managed to sneak in a couple of jabs. Schilling has been a nemesis for us since Arizona, thats for sure… if you judge that by his lack of dominance for the first half of his career, one might wonder if he got a little “help” along the way….he sure got better as he got older. Of course we’ll never know, since Sox Director Mitchell ran the investigation, seems like he was only is interested in Yankees. Anyway, we sure kicked the crap out of you guys last night, but am smart enough to realize that the Red sux are a team to reckon with. It is a lot of fun to hate them, but I find that I actually have developed a grudging respect for alot of them, except of course dirtbag Manny and “I’ll-only-fight-u-if-I-can-wear-my protective-gear-Varitek” They are lowlife scum.

Last thing…I dont know which idiot pointed out that they think Yanks will finish 3rd and not make playoffs…We have made playoffs every year since 1996. Boston won in 2004 and what, 2 years later didnt make playoffs after the Boston Massacre 2…Consistency Loser! We were down 14 1/2 games last year and came all the way back,,, almost took the division right out from under your noses…dont act like you werent puckered up during that run. Look at the numbers game, we have sucked in the playoffs in recent years that is true…but the numbers will not lie, it is only a short matter of time before we win it back. And you douchey Sawx fans know that when it happens your run is DONE!!!

P.S. Why are the Sox such a racist club?? Sign some African-American players damnit!! Youve onle had about 5 in the last thirty years. Hate the damn racist history of the Sawx.

Curt, I worry about your rehab. Your personal physician recommended surgury. You went with the club’s insistence for rehab.

IMO you need to think not about possibly making a baseball contribution but about the rest of your life.Do you want to have your arm turned 75 degrees like Carl Hubbell’s? Do you want to be able to throw to your kids?

I think the Sox can win this year without you. I also think you can make a contribution as a presence on the rostor. I hope you will contribute as active pitcher, but I don’t believe in it. I think you should think about the rest of your life and less about your last year as a player.

yeah i do think that means something the point i make is you said we didn’t win anything, pennants mean championships, maybe just american league, but it’s still a championship.now i realize you haven’t won many of those and it’s easy for you do get confused when you’re getting the first taste of winning after so many years of losing.if you need lessons on how to act like a real winner just ask one of us we have lots of years of experience. more than you will ever know.

and as far as you winning the ws twice in 4 yrs you didn’t have to play us that’s the only reason you got there, because if you born losers would played us, it would have been 1 ws in 85 yrs wow great record. don’t forget now we have beaten the dirtsox since 04 in seasons series every year. so to but it bluntly we still own you’re ass and always will.
so like i said before put your’e 2 trophys on you’re shelf at home along with lots of empty space and dream about being in a class all by you’re self LOSING THAT IS.

PS AND WASN’T THAT A LITTLE ICING ON THE CAKE ? WHEN THE GIANTS BEAT YOU’RE LOWLIFE CITY?JUST LIKE I SAID BEFORE NEWYORK WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER 1 AND YOU LOSERS CAN’T HANDLE IT ……..BYE

YOU are a Yankee fan talking smack, being a troll at a Red Sox site and you really have the audacity to sit and call people names?

We are defending(or not) Our player. You however are a troll. Trolls should be banned.

Let me go to any Yankee board and spout your garbage and I bet my IP would be banned in a second. You are lucky Curt even lets you post here. He is a better man then you will ever be. It is that simple.

I can not believe there has been Papi talk? I havent found/looked for it, need to get some z’s. But have to add my say: Why would anyone talk negative about him? Gosh, everyone has a slump or a slow start. Give the guy a break who ever talked stuff on him. He has my support 100% and shoot for all he has done for us these years, people should zip their mouths about him. I would like to see them hit a baseball at a high speed PERIOD! Hugs to Papi.

And I cant believe we have a yicky yankee blogger on here? Get the heck off of here and SHUT YOUR YAP Mattingly whatever the rest of your id is. I cant stand you Yankee fans. I wont even repeat what a yankeefan said about Papi at a game vs. us at yankee stadium after his heart scare. After hearing that my mom vowed to not step back in that stadium.

Also, you guys copy us with our Red Sox Nation, with the el stupido Yankee Universe, now the team has green attire you can buy, probably getting a new stadium since Fenway has done so many neat things you guys just have to TRY to get a better stadium. Just dont forget the number one chant heard in all stadiums throughout the baseball year………YANKEES SUCK! AND DONT even blog back with 26 rings……bandwagon fan, it is the heart of the team that matters most. GO blog elsewhere and so what if Curt speaks his mind, that is what you call communication!

Uh, you didnt seem to mention how you guys were GIVEN a homerun in the playoffs whatever year that was and I think you guys somehow won that year. So make that 25 rings. Didnt mention your big choke in the playoffs of 04. We wouldve won in 03 if Pedro was taken out, so that couldve been back to back championships and the curse wouldve been reversed then. So now, it obviously is reversed and before you know it the chant for you guys will be 2000! Our team has always had heart not stupid arrogance with the training of how to run like a stuck up snob when you hit a homerun. I’d rather be with a team of great caliber than arrogance in stripes. Still dont know why Mariano still plays there, he doesnt belong there.

And LOL @ “you didn’t have to play us that’s the only reason you got there”

No kidding, cuz you guys got knocked out in the first round! LOL What are you arguing again? How bad you performed last year? If you are then I agree with you. ROFL. This is classic.

  51. April 18, 2008 11:42 am

    @ yanksrdaclassofbball

I thought I heard it all but this takes the cake… where to start…

“We were down 14 1/2 games last year and came all the way back,,, almost took the division right out from under your noses”

There’s nothing funnier when people try and use a “coulda woulda shoulda” argument against something that never happened. Sorry to burst your bubble but you didn’t take anything. You’re last min run was too late. And you went home with nothing. There’s nothing else to be said other than yous hould have played better at the beginning of the year.

“Why are the Sox such a racist club??”

This must be a joke. I’m pretty sure the Red Sox org doesn’t exclude African-American players, but rather look for the best performing players from all around the world. The Red Sox right now have a very diverse club. What’s your problem? Do you want them to go sign some Eskimos too?

i have so many friends that are redsox fans and we get along great we have respect for each others team, we never critisize or have debates about who has more rings less rings ext, until a MORON like you and you buddy ” firedannyainge” come along and spoiled it all, maybe you 2 should ride around in you’re cars all day long and howler “YANKEE SUCK” it seems to me the only thing thats important to you is finding fault with us.
if you were a adult not a child you would see how the players get along together on the field they joke around on and off have a great relationship and alot of class UNTIL A COUPLE OF MORONS COME ALONG AND RUIN IT, AH!!!!!!!!!!! i know i’ts hard when you’re a child, maybe mommy and daddy can read you some stories and give you a bottle ( and burp you) you would not be so bitter but i doubt.
i didn’t realize this debate was a speeling bee that is on “espn” if you’re wondering, and “crying child”you also said nobody reads my post hmmm, didn’t you just respond to mind? now make sure you get lots of sleep next time so you can remember what you’re saying.
again my redsox friends agree with me, they don’t like to play us and they know when it comes to playing each other we always win so try to get you’re head straight ( i doubt it) the next time you want to have a debate maybe by the time you hit 40, you might know i little i’m giving you the benefit of the doubt i’m sure i’ll regret it.

It confuses me as to why,if you are not a Boston fan(or a Yankee fan),you would want to post on a site that is for the people who support Boston and Curt Schilling? It appears that you seem to get pleasure out of trashing other teams and their supporters just for the fun of it. I am in New York City but I totally despise the Yankees, the organization and the fans. I support Boston(and the New York Mets)and I support Curt Schilling. I guess the important thing to look at right now is this: Who is in first place and who is not? Boston is doing very well,as are the New York Mets. And your team is where? I would not talk about another team choking when they are doing well and your team is not…

and this is a free open web site, anybody can post anything they want here, i’m sure curt enjoys the rivary between teams and fans as mich as a trouble maker he is.
wow!what amazes me is there’s MORON FAN like you who says quote:”

it appears you seem to get pleasure out of trashing other clubs” and you also said (i love this one) “i totally despise the yankee organization and the fans’ now i only finished high school and 2 yrs of collage but weren’t you just knocking the yankees?
maybe you should leave you’re comments some place where IDIOTS are allowed to.
and last but not least first place? my team is playing alot better now and it is only april and we have played alot tougher sh than the redsox. who have you played? not many tough teams yet.
so before you start leaving comments try to know what you’re talking about because leaving comments like you did, only makes you look like a even BIGGER IDIOT than you already are.

Do me a favor and do not go shooting off your mouth, attacking people personally, when you have no idea what you are talking about. For your information, and not that it is any of your business, but the reason that I am empirelady has nothing to do with New York or the empire state. For your information, years ago I did a lot of work with a company called empire and my boyfriend at the time said that since I did so much work with the company called empire,I should be called empirelady. The company is now out of business and I am not with the boyfriend but the name stayed with me. So it has nothing to do with New York at all.Second of all,the New York Yankees do NOT own New York state, nor will they ever. The New York Mets, who I support along with Boston,is just as much a part of New York as the Yankees. Furthermore,if you check the records,in the last few years, the Yankees have not done so well. In fact,if you look at the standings right now,the Mets are doing better than the Yankees. New York City is a two team city, with teams in two different parts of the city, and yes there is a rivalry going between the two teams and their fans, but both teams are VERY much a part of this city. ANyone who lives in New York knows that,as well as well as people in other parts of the country. You are right in saying that I should not attack your team and I apologize for that,as there were plenty of years when both of my teams,Boston and the MEts,were not playing well, and I did not like it if someone attacked them. It just seems to me that someone who hates the Boston Red Sox and who does not have anything nice to say about Curt Schilling, who is a beautiful human being both on and off the field(have you checked out all of the great things that he does for other human beings off the field-ALS,Shade,and the Make A Wish Foundation, just to mention a few;and the Make A Wish Foundation just honored him a few weeks ago with an award)should not be writing on a site for Boston fans and Curt supporters. To not ever have anything nice to say and to use the site just so that you can express your anger and hatred is not a good thing, and that is NOT what this site is all about. As for you trashing me personally,I will not dignify that with an answer. To tell you the truth, you are just not worth it. I would much rather write about things of importance, like the baseball team or the great things that Curt is doing. By the way, check out Curt’s posting and my posting on “ALS Goes Global”,which Curt posted on March 22(I am number nine I think)and then see what you think of Curt and me.

everybody knows the yankees haven’t done much lately, that wasn’t the debate here you said there a terrible organization, i just corrected you,and as far as me attacking curt, wow, dude just read some of you’re fellow redsox fans comments they attack him alot more than anybody else

Curt we want you back, but shold this be the end, know that we LOVE YOU! You should be extremely proud as you look back on a GREAT CAREER. Tonight I will say a Prayer for you and for your family. YOU WILL BE MISSED – SO HURRY UP AND HEAL (properly) SO WE CAN HAVE ONE LAST YEAR WITH OUR CURT. GODSPEED and GODBLESS!

Curt – I wish you well on your surgery tomorrow. Regardless of the outcome you will forever be remembered for what you accomplished with the Boston Red Sox and your entire baseball career. Those memories will be with us all forever. You have been a success in baseball and in the private business sector. You have been a role model for our children and shown them what hard work and perserverence can do. Whatever the future brings I ask God to bless you and your family and to bring you continued good fortune. Should that future involve politics as a Senator from Massachusetts, we would all be better off.

Hi Curt, It has been 22 years since our days with the Greensboro Hornets. I have an 8 year old daughter who loves baseball and her favorite player is you. She has Downs syndrome and has twisted my arm to write and find out how your (in her words) boo is doing. I hope you are doing well.

    Hi Curt
My son Kyle is 18 and a pitcher for Plymouth Post 40 Legion team. He was pitching a game last Sunday ,had a great first inning 123 .Second inning first pitch his humerous snapped in half he went down. Everyone in the stands heard the snap. He is supposed to be going to college in the fall for pitching Div II. Kyle is very depressed and nervous about ever pitching again. We are trying to find some positive reinforcement to help him get his head back in the game. If you have any information or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated since you are the #1 pitcher.
    Thank you
    Karen Davey
