One questions, I run a baseball card blog called Wax Heaven. Is there any chance you could add my Wordpress to your link?

Thanks!

As a life time Phillies fan, I would be so very happy to see you back in the pinstripes. I have followed your career since you were with the Astros and would love to have you back in the NL. All the regulars at the ball park miss seeing you and Shonda at the games. I hope to see you there either as a Phillie or with the Red Sox.

Curt, you would fit right in, in STL. Best fans, great talent, excellent organization, brand new stadium. Wouldn't you rather deal with STL media and STL traffic than east coast media and congested highways, etc.

Were a contender every year and you would love playing at Wrigley and brand new Miller Park, etc..........besides all the other new stadiums in the NL central. You would dominate free swinging Soriano, show them rooks in MIL who da man is and punch out Griffey with a nasty splitter.

LaRussa and Duncan would be an excellent fit for you. Bill Dewitt is ready to open his wallet and MO is committed to bringing in more offense this year.

Wouldnt it be fitting for STL to play Boston in October 2008 and get redemption. Game 1 starter Schilling vs. Beckett. Sounds good to me. You could tutor Wainwright too.

Mr. Schilling,

Having followed your career since the Blue Jays - Phillies World Series, let me just say you're the type of pitcher ANY team would be happy to have anchoring their staff. More importantly, you've always struck me as a tremendous person.

The work you're doing for troubled youth, via the Webster House, is very significant. Also, my late aunt passed away because of ALS complications, so your efforts to eradicate that insidious disease are just as commendable.

This is my first posting, so if I sound a bit sycophantic, I don't mean to. Wherever you wind up, I hope it's a good fit for you, both professionally and personally.

I just have two requests, if you're amenable to addressing them, that would be great. If not, I'll continue to follow your career and wish you the best, nonetheless.

There's a Belchertown, Massachusetts man named Shawn Harris who's a former serviceman back from Iraq who needs financial assistance badly. He's mired in debt through no fault of his own, and may lose his house. You and the other readers of your blog can get more information about him by accessing http://www.harrisfund.com

As for my wife and I, we're a childless couple hoping to hear the pitter patter of little feet in our household. Consequently, we're attempting to adopt a newborn infant. Naturally, being big baseball fans, the first person we attempted to reach out to for help was Shea Hildenbrand. Given the controversy that flared last year when he was with Toronto, over his contention that the Blue Jays weren't more supportive when he and his wife adopted their daughter, you would have thought he would at least have had the courtesy of returning our email. But he didn't. Same with Hall of Famer Jim Palmer, who was adopted himself.

Anyways, in this age of social media, networking is key, so if we can use your great blog to help facilitate our efforts to identify a prospective birthmother who wants to develop an adoption plan with us, that would be sweet! You and your readers can access our website at http://www.ouradoptionwish.com

Thanks for permitting us to post this message, and best always to you and yours. With kindest personal regards, we remain,

Sincerely yours,

Karen and Doug

Curt,

Because you can never tell where these things will end up, I wanted to say thanks to you. Not for the 2 World Series titles (not that I'm not thankful for those) but for all that you've done for ALS. My Dad died of ALS in 1998. I am likely in the 5 - 10% of the cases where there is a familial link in the disease. So I am about 5 - 8 years from needing this assistance. In all likelihood, your work won't help me when my time comes. But it will help when my children could be faced with the same fate as me and my father before me.

You and Mike Timlin have meant more to me in your time here than any other athletes in Boston have ever meant. And it has nothing to do with you accomplishments between the lines. I can't tell you what your work with the ALS societies, Angel funds and other ALS related charities mean to me and my family.

thank you. I hope that you finish 2008 with a Red Sox jersey on. If you don't, I'll always be a fan of yours.

Curt,

I'm a newcomer to this site. I've always heard you had a blog so I decided to check it out today.

Curt, I love you but everything with you has to be over-dramatized. You ain't going anywhere...No need to write love letters to your teammates, no need to play the "Thanks for the memories" song. No need to list a bunch of teams you think you might end your career with. Like you, I'm a Christian with a lot of faith...I know for sure you will be with the Sox next year. I have prayed to God about it and I know God answers my prayers.

And you know what, if they give you an incentive-laden contract instead of a gurantee contract...take it. It will make you work even harder and proove to the world that you still have what it takes.

Love you!

I very much respect the fact that you represent yourself. I'm sure you know the story of Ted Williams refusing a pay raise from Tom Yawkey because he had a bad year. Quite an amazing thing and it showed what kind of unique man he was. You're now in a position to do something like that. Find out if the Theo wants you back. If he actually does, then make it happen.
