You deserve a hall of fame shot no matter would you have to say and I'm exctremely critical on hall inductees, Your voted in my book not just because I'm a bostononian. Because of your devotion and emotion you brought to the game as a clean player in this era for kids to actually admire a real champ not discluding you teamates whatsoever. A real class act pal, which you don't see to often these day's with players in all sports. I really hope in the future they don't let your pic sit in a closet I think the league really has to pick up the ball on this one. Look at Jim Rice, your in boston's hall of fame brother.

Mr. Schilling,

Congratulations on re-signing. I can now breathe more easily!

Thank you also for providing such a strong role model for integrity and a serious work ethic. Kids just do not see enough of these in their sports and media heroes.

As a teacher and a mom, I can attest to the impact role models can have.

Best wishes to you and your family, and thanks for the memories!

Curt...a big Ol' Fashioned HUZZAH ! The Mahoney's are simply delighted that you'll be in a Red Sox uniform for at least one more year. Prayers do work.
I'm convinced in my heart of hearts that you were most definitely SUPPOSED to be here. I've been a Big Sox fan since I was a little boy (I've got about 20 years on you) and my only true Sox Player's memento is one of my most prized possessions...One of Teddy Ballgame's signed baseballs. He was always my boyhood hero...well Curt..you've carved out a big niche in this family and you'll forever be our Red Sox hero as adults. I remember your Ford truck ad stating that ;"your going to Boston to bring them a World Championship"....what a hoot...how prophetic! I'll always remember the bloody sock ! We waited 86 years and you did it ...TWICE. You're a tremendous guy, and a great leader in the clubhouse and in Life. You and Shonda are much loved and admired for all that you do for so many worthy causes. May you & yours always be blessed, and may you continue to remain a neighbor . You're a class act Curt and I'm proud to call you Friend.

P.S. Without a HINT of comedic intent...CONSIDER that run for Senate against Kerry...you'd win!

Congratulations, Curt. To, your family and us. You did it with class. I was seriously moved by your post. And stop talking about '08 being your last year. You'll be a different and a better pitcher next season and you WILL be back in'09. I admire you for publicly witnessing to your faith. We need more athletes like you. God bless you and your family.

Curt- As a family man, professional, and dedicated Red Sox fan, I am touched by your posting of the 2003 letter. There is no better feeling of security in a society filled with uncertainty than being associated with a business or organization that actually cares for you, your family and your altruistic interests outside of professional obligations. Although I have had many fulfilling jobs in my career, I will always regret leaving a position three years ago that appealed to many of the same priorities that you and I obviously share. Yes, I made a move for the money, and, in a way that's fine, but now, I wish that I hadn't and had stayed in that position with the security and the values that matter. You have a chance to not only make history, but also to have the piece of mind that you are dedicated to a cause, both for a team with the most dedicated fans in the country and to an organization that has the right chemistry for all of us and for you.

Curt - thanks for sharing this letter! It is great to know that the club delivered to you and your family. Thanks to you and your family for coming to Boston AND most importantly being leaders in the community through the charity efforts that Shonda and you make. I am a huge Sox fan, but will never say that what happens between the lines is more important than helping someone live their life to the fullest so keep up the good work, on and off the field. Just read your latest post, re: being confident that a contract to rejoin the Sox, and am excited that your #38 will be in the locker room for one more season.

Rest up, enjoy your family this off-season, and we'll see you in February!
