This past weekend I saw Josh Hamilton and his wife speak at a local church. It was refreshing to see him as just a regular kinda guy - he wasn't polished like some PR professional had gotten a hold of him and told him what to say. I find his comeback amazing...overcoming his addiction (which we all know is a day to day struggle) is amazing...and then being able to come back and play in the majors after such a long time away is another amazing venture.

I looked back on your site to see if you had posted comments in regards to this, but didn't see...wondering your take...

Curt, Thanks for another great year and another championship. I hope that you land right back in Boston next year. The Sox would be lucky to have you for at least one more year and personally would like to see you end your career in Boston. If we've seen the last of you in Beantown, then I hope you know how greatful we are to you for what you've brought to the team over the past few years. Good luck next year no matter where you might be playing.

CHB -- Curly Haired Boyfriend?

Just for people who don't know. That's the moniker coined by Sox outfielder Carl Everett.

While complaining about reporters who criticized him, Jurassic Carl referred to "[Gordon] Edes and his curly-haired boyfriend."

Of course, Shaugnessy coined "Jurassic Carl" as a mocking allusion to Everett's remark to reporters that as a Bible believer, he didn't take the theory evolution seriously. Of course, being a creationist is the unpardonable sin in liberal Boston.

After that remark, CHB had the RSN convinced that Jurassic Carl was just an out of control trouble maker. It's funny that when he later moved on, we never heard another word about controversy associated with Everett.

I am convinced from other things that CHB has written that he just doesn't like born-again Christians who wear their faith on their sleeve.

I think Shaughessy is a GREAT writer and I aspire to be like him in that way, but Herr Blowhard has a little bit more humility in admitting that he sometimes says things he regrets.

I don't think I've ever seen a retraction in print from CHB.

This may be your own personal blog, but you're now the CEO of a major company seeking to find its way into the market. It would be in the interests of you and those you employ if you kept the name-calling and bickering out of the public eye; there's no telling whom you'll piss off.

Also, copy-pasted questions from umpteen weeks ago:

Q- Did you build your own gaming rig or did you buy a pre-built system (e.g. Dell, Alienware, Gateway, etc.)? What are the specs on it?

Q- As an MMO player what is your preferred playstyle: raiding, small groups or soloing?

Q- Are you open about whom you are when you play a game (for example, do your guildmates tend to know/figure it out)?

Q- When should fans expect some more substantial information to be released on 38 Studios’ flagship title? A year? Two? More? Less?

Q- Do you play games the day/night before you’re due to pitch? If so, have you ever gotten sucked in so deep you lost track of time (and maybe a little sleep as a result)?

Q- Are you guys (38 Studios) interested in attending E3 in the future? What are your three most anticipated games at the expo this year?

Re highlights of the baseball season, most have already been mentioned here:

1- Buchholz' no-no
2- Emergence of Pedroia as first-class player
3- Papelbon's consistent stellar performances
4- Mike Lowell - player/hitter/fielder/person
5- Mother's Day Miracle
6- Singing of the national anthem by the fellow with autism (can't recall his name), and crowd joining in
7- Various tributes to former players
8- Fan reception for Trot Nixon
9- Coco's gold glove performance in center field
10 - Beckett on the mound

On a different topic, I'd love to have Neil Diamond invited to throw out the first pitch and lead the fans in "Sweet Caroline!"

ok..first off he made a funny..get it?? about CHB...get over it all of you and take it for what it was meant to be...
Schill says what he wants to say when he wants to and so what?
And in my heart I fell for him when he made the commercial about breaking the curse before he even pitched for us. I will always love the player and person he is..
We should never fear to say what we believe....

Isn't this childish CHB stuff something that a "Christian" should avoid engaging in? It's one thing to mock someone in the spur of the moment, but a blog is about as premeditated as you can get. How does one square the one with the other? WWJD indeed.
