Game vs Yanks – 5/23/o7 – Boy did you suck tonite Schill. Only the 6th inning and you’ve given up 6 runs and 12 hits…. Good thing your a free agent next year and boy did Theo make a wise decision in not extending your contract. Time to pack the rag arm up and concentrate on video games!!!!!

Conseco is running his mouth off? Isnt that what Curt does everyday? At least we dont have to hear from Jose on a daily basis!

Hey Curt, how sweet will it be for you to get back at the Sox when you sign a deal elsewhere? Watch out Theo, I’m sure Curt will have something to say about you come October! Anyone wanna predict his comments for we all know Curt wont take the high road.

It is refreshing to hear the words from the horse’s mouth since many of Boston’s media members enjoy taking comments out of context.

Curt,

what role do you see Julian Tavarez playing during the 2nd half of the season? We are all hoping for the swift return of a lefty in the rotation in Jon Lester, but personally I would hate to see Tavarez take on a diminished bullpen role, especially after pitching so well in his last start.

I know his numbers aren’t the best so far, but I like Tavarez’s competitive nature and would like to see the team give him more time starting. Do you think the Red Sox organization plans to reintroduce Lester in low-pressure relief appearances, or do you think as soon as he’s ready, he’s guaranteed the 5 spot?

I’ve had many arguments about Tavarez starting over the past year with many Sox fans, so any comments you have about the 5 spot in 2007 would be appreciated.

Keep up the good work Schill! And who said anything about ‘lack of fastball command???’ I haven’t seen it…

Hi Curt:
Not sure how far you read these responses, but wanted to ask you something. I catch the games on my local AM radio statio. During the broadcasts its not uncommon to hear standout voices in the crowd, and every once in awhile I’ll hear someone saying something funny or memorable..case in point: during a home gamne a few weeks ago there was a lull in the broadcast and I could clearly hear someone yell out “hey, does your girlfriend really like that thing hanging from your face.” We cracked up!

I gotta imagine that despite the intensity of focus on the mound, you must have heard wise cracks over the years that have stuck with you…anything you could share with us?

Curt as a person who has spent the last 6 years of my life in and out of the desert, thank you for what you do for the boys. Make no mistake about it, the place is a nasty god foresaken shi@hole. It is a pleasure to watch you work, you are the ultimate professional. But more I appreciate your candor and your dedication to the more important things in life. I know it would cause a sh@@ storm beyond belief but I would love to see somebody drill Bonds whenhe comes to town. I do not care about the steroids, what bothers me is the fact he played stupid. I believe any advantage you can get at your level you take, but at least have the stones to admitt it. Again thank you for what you do for the troops, because I can speak from experience it’s people llike you that make us do the things we do, even in the conditions we are presented with there.

Im sitting here watching the pregame on Wensday, hoping this rain will stop so you can get the game in tonight and avoid a doubleheader tomorrow.
Made me wonder, if youre playing in a rain condition,and the ball is wet,

Why is it every year Canseco feels the need to run his mouth off? Curt, love your blog. As a lifelong sox fan (was even on NESN show once calling Joe Morgan in Yankee Stadium dugout) i am really starting to feel that this Red Sox team is about to have a season like no other. The stars are aligning like 2004. Do you feel this team is something out of the ordinary? God Bless you and your wife for everything you do for our community.
