Curt, why wouldn't you nail A-Rod first at bat right in the back? I think it would have set the tone for the whole season. After he hit the first homer off of you I was positive you were gonna hit him the next at bat, but then he hits another homer off you! He was the hottest hitter in the game going into that series and there was no way he was hitting two homers off of you if you nailed him first at bat.

Great job the other night and good luck heading into NY.

It seems like you're even more of a media target now because you have this forum to sound off - almost as if they're pissed you have communication skills of your own and have a place to use them that they're not a part of. The media in this town sucks and there's nobody who understands that more than the players so keep your head up and contunue playing great ball. The real fans will always support you for what you've given this city despite what the clowns in the media try to show.

Curt, I know its early, and in baseball that can mean everything, but how gross is Papelbon....i mean come on...Hitters look totally overmatched...My question is, do you think he'll remain as a premeir closer or eventually move to the starting rotation in the next few years....what would you do with a pitcher like that if you were in charge....any thoughts?

Thanks again for reading your fans' thoughts..

I read that ARod once again professed his wishes to remain in NYC beyond this season.

Good riddance, I say! We won one World Series without him (led by Curt Schilling) and we don't need him to win another! Are you with me, Red Sox Nation?

After all, the Yankees won more WS with Scott Brosius at third than with ARod!

I was at that game. it was my first fenway experience in my almost 18 years as a red sox fan. And I wouldn't want to see any other pitcher taking that mound. I think you did a great job. Even though I hate saying this but the yankees have a very talented team so you always have to bring your best against them. But to what I thought about the game.

When I first got to my seat, after waiting 2 hours in line to get tickets, my jaw was almost hitting the floor. I thought fenway was the best place on the planet I loved it there and me and my friend decided to go to as many games as possible. When I sat down I started to look around and then I saw the one and only Curt Schilling making his way to warm-up and I literally couldn't say anything. I thought to myself 'I'm looking at the man with the bloody sock. The guy who helped lead my favorite team in the whole world to the world series. One of my favorite pitchers of all time.' It was unbelievable.

When the first pitch was thrown I knew it was gonna be a big game. My first fenway experience. My first rivalry experience. And ofcourse my first fenway frank which was fantastic might I add.

I wish I could of gotten closer seats because I don't have the best vision. I would of loved to see the splitter in action instead of on tv.

I personally think you pitched well, yes you have been struggling with control but things get better in time. But when your facing a batter that is doing as good as A. Rod you'd be lucky to hold him to a double on bad pitches instead of him hitting it out the park.

And I was psyched to be there for 'Tek's first homerun he has been my favorite player for years now. Me and my friend were probably the first two people jumping up and down in the whole park. And that would of been an amazing catch him coco robbed A. Rod of that homerun I probably would have pee'd myself if he made that play. To be honest I was happy Damon did bad because in my eyes if you leave the Red Sox and go to play for the Yankees for a bigger pay check then your a traitor and a sell out.

I can't wait to see Lester pitching in the big leagues again. He's a talented pitcher.

It also must feel really good knowing you have Hideki and Paps in the pen for relief both amazingly talented pitchers and Paps being one of my favorite closers of all time.

Well hopefully the next sox game I go to you will be starting that would be pretty sick. And hopefully i get my friends seats there to the left of the dugout near where the ballboy stands my friends parents charge us 90 bucks for them so hopefully i can get some tickets from them soon because I wanna see some "gas" quoting the Dennis The Gas Man Eckersly.

Well goodluck with the future starts and hopefully you get back to doing what you do best.....shutting batters down.

Huge fan
