Hey curt, is your wife running this year?
funny story for ya, last year I was standing out in front of my house on marathon day and a limo pulls up in front of a couple of police officers working a detail, well they stop the limo and would not let it pass, well I walked over and the back window opened and your wife has asked me if there were another way to get closer to the starting line and the common. I looked over at the limo driver and said hey buddy park it right here in my driveway and I will call one of the in town police officers to come and get her. The detail officers were persistant on there duties, so I walked over to the officers and said, do you know who is in the back of that limo, well its curt schillings wife, call on the radio and they will let her go by, well in the mean time I had called the dispatcher who I know and he radioed up to them to let them pass. Your wife waved and said thank you......very polite, and tell her....your welcome. Is she running again, because your welcome to parking or what ever you need here, I am a 5 min walk to the start. email: Gasman7@verizon.net
Take care.....god speed!!!

A belated congratulations to your wifes Boston Marathon run. My wife ran the race a couple times back in the early 90's.

On a side note her father was stationed with your Dad in Anchorage back in the mid to late 60's. He tells many tales of their hunting/fishing adventures!

Hey Curt,

I'm a Bluejays fan here and as you know they are struggling right now on an 8 game losing streak (No thanks to the Red Sox). Do you find any differance when playing against a struggling team? Do you think the Jays had too high expectations this year and are now just playing to their ability, or will they come back and join the race again later in the year?

Hey Curt,

Quick Question

How do you feel about Roger Clemens signing with the Yankees? Is that going to have a major influence between Yankee-Red Sox games?

Curt,
You pitched a great game into the 7th inning today (5/6) , but as the camera went back to you settling in on the bench, I could'nt help but be disappointed and troubled by what I watched. You, you wife, and your family have devoted so much of your time and energy toward fighting cancer in its many horrible forms, and yet there you sat, packing your jaw with tobacco.
Just as the cameras never show a fool who has hopped on the field while he is being dragged off, I wish they would also stop showing what you and so many of your fellow team members do with smokeless tobacco. As the camera followed you through your whole routine, you unwittingly told thousands and thousands of young kids and older teenagers that it is ok to start chewing.
I am sure through all your work in the world of cancer that you have the facts regarding smokeless tobacco. Check out this link to the Mayo Clinic if you don't.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chewing-tobacco/CA00019
More helpful would probably be to show some of the post surgical pictures of smokeless tobacco users, some of them still teenagers. Here is the link to the story of one young man. http://whyquit.com/whyquit/SeanMarsee.html
If you are truly concerned about protecting people from cancer, you need to protect yourself first by quitting. Then you need to take on the cause of getting others to stop by informing them of the dangers of smokeless tobacco, just as you do about the dangers of the sun.
It is very difficult to live a life without going out into the sun, so precautions must be taken. Smokeless tobacco is not like the sun. No one has to be exposed to it, ever.
Curt, you owe it to the thousands of kids and young adults who will begin using after watching you use today, knowing that if Curt Schilling does it, it must be ok!

Congrats to your wife. Also, thanks for what you do for ALS. We have a local resident fighting this aweful disease. Keep going!
