Curt,

I'm sure that I will be posting plenty about baseball in the future. And as we know you have a lot of things going on outside of baseball as well. I would like to know if you have any advice at starting up a new business. I am a new business owner (in the sports field) and would like to know if you had a few "rules to live by" when starting your venture?

Best of luck this season with all your endevours. And Go Red Sox!!

Curt,

How did you make the majors?

What was your path as a kid? My son is 9 (just turned 9) years old and works hard everyday to be good at baseball. He's always getting training...he's signed up for Frozen Ropes, Extra Innings, many towns Babeball Academy and so on, he practices most days...

How much is too much for a 9 year old?

How do you know when a kid has enough talent go far with Baseball?

Hey Curt,

I just wanted to say that it is really cool of you to do this. I will let you know right off the bat that I will probably rip you sometimes, but overall I really respect you as a pitcher. You were the biggest reason that the Sox won it in 2004, and as a fan I will never forget it.

My question to you is this: Do you regret stumping for George W. Bush in 2004? He has proven to be one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States according to many historians and college professors. I can certainly understand why someone in your tax bracket would want Bush, but do you really think that he has been good for the average people out there who are not millionaires?

Hi Curt -

As as avid MMORPG'er (AC1, AC2, SWG, WoW), GM of a great guild for the past 5 years and 'father figure' not only to my own children but to a number of younger folks I have come to know over the years, I am often disturbed about the amount of time they dedicate to playing the game.

When I have a 18-20 year old kid that plays WoW 10 hours a day (or more) 7 days a week lamenting their lives I continually urge them to get up get out, visit friends, take some classes, chase some girls (or guys)... I just turned 37 and have 4 kids of my own... without my intervention, is this the state of the 'gamer' as we know it?

There's rumbling of parent groups rising up and blaming Blizzard (one group is trying to file litigation) for the zombification of their kids...

I'm sure you've heard/read all the rhetoric about it and aside from 'parents need to know and control what their kids are doing' (which tends to be my stance); I'm curious to know where you stand on this and how (if at all) you may address this type of concern with 38Studios.

Best of luck in 07 dude; own it up!

Hello Curt. I just want to start off by thanking you for your courage and contribution during that amazing 2004 season. Between the Red Sox and Patriots we have been quite a happy group of sports fans in the early part of the 21st Century here in New England.

I'm actually interested in learning a bit more about your interests in gaming and fantasy literature.

How has it been working with Robert A. Salvatore? I am fairly new to his writing having finished the Dark Elf Trilogy about a year ago. I am now caught up with Drizzt and Co. having just finished the Hunter's Blades Trilogy while also reading the Clerical Quintet along the way. I'm basically a Salvatore addict at this point (please thank him for me :)

Which is your favorite RA Salvatore book and which one of his characters would you say most resembles yourself and your attitudes? Also, any other fantasy titles that you would recommend (besides Tolkien of course - the Babe Ruth of Fantasy writers)?

Finally, when can we expect the first published Green Monster Games title and which platform(s) will the company focus on? Any possibility of developing for a Nintendo system (Wii or Game Boy) and are you a fan of the Zelda series?

Thanks for your time Curt and good luck to you this season (and hopefully a few more) in Boston.

Ok I'm not in the camp of all these others sycophants because I've got a toughiefor you Curt:
How can a spokeperson for skin cancer publicly chew tobacco?
I just want to know if you think the two are unrelated, or whether you might be somewhat obligated to not publicly chew a substance that causes cancer, and a deadly cancer at that.
I only ask this because you have done a lot of excellent work for medical research - ALS and the SHADE - I respect that very much.
How 'bout pullin' the plug on the plug?

I've heard a few media outlets quoting your blogs now. I know this site is primarily to stay in touch with the fans (a fabulous idea I might add), but as far as the media goes, if they are going to quote your blogs, it's kinda taking away from Joe Public a little I feel. Then again, how do you know I or anyone else for that matter is not Bob Lobel or one of those other clowns just reaching for a tidbit of a story or something stupid to elaborate on and put their own spin on things? Even though you're not going to say anything you don't want out there, I realize, I say we ban the media, at least in principal from this site. Just a thought out loud.

Ooooo... a blog! (insert evil grin smilie face here)

As for speaking your mind about any and all issues - good grief, why else do this? I think most people get to be 'people' first, and professionals second. Well it should be that way. If it isn't, ignore the whiners and do it anyway.

Have a terrific season and God bless -
